Cove Tree in Lost river for example was in a giant cube for a while and just recently got opened. So, according to your logic they might be lying, aren't they?Įxperimental version isn't showing us all of things and that is why there are several square-boxes hiding stuffs in it. I heard many of precursor things are almost finished but we can't find it on our game because it's kept as secret till they reveal all of them at once. You want source? Either go to Subnautica UWE forum and search or just check this quicklyīy the way, as you said that what you see is what you expect : have you found any of Precursor bases and their enormous cannon? No? That is why it's called "Sea Emperor" with several variants like Juvenile Emperor"s" and Baby Emperor. Have you even tried experimental version? Sea Dragon has currently even better AI than Reaper Leviathan and it is expected to be a dumb aggressive one, while Sea Emperor will be an intelligent being. If that doesn't scream lazy development to you, I don't know what does. Sea Dragon I've seen it, and it's also a reskin of the sea emperor as well. Those screenies you posted look awful, by the way, plus I'd already seen them. Sea Dragon, great animations? "I can swim with my arms, look at how stiff I look!".ĭon't give them too much credit yet. Originally posted by Armos:Like I was saying. Even Sea Dragon is still WIP even though its pretty stable and got great animations already. I'm actually very surprised that there is somebody thinks that the currently-spawnable Emperor is already on its pre-final state. Sea Emperor has been kind of top secret project(just like Precursor) for dev and they are not revealing its progress at all since they firstly gave us the "placeholder" model. I'm pretty sure it's all about interaction with him, as the main story will be either helping him or not from being captive by Precursors. You can also see their plan with The Emperor's behavior in Subnautica roadmap trello. And these Emperors are already far furthur from what you can spawn. These are leaked/teased WIP pictures of Sea Emperor from dev team, from months ago. LOL It is certainly a placeholder and it's so obvious that everyone knows. You seriously must be kidding for thinking that they will release Sea Emperor as the one that is spawnable. Most importantly, Sea Emperor will be the key of Subnautica's singleplayer story. Sea Emperor will be sentient being and that is why they are/will be working on its animations and behaviors at the moment. If they release like that, it's going to be terrible. Look, just ask yourself if you really like what you're seeing. I just can't fanboy about everything like the rest of the forum. Sorry for being negative- no, scratch that. Eye candy? Their animations are barebones at best. I.really don't think that'll be the case. Originally posted by Armos:You make it sounds like they'd be sentient beings. I love Subnautica and also have high hopes for it. Just to be clear, I've never played NMS, nor do I wish to. They'd all be extremely disappointed, just like with No Man's Sky. It's like if we were to call the current game complete, and everyone rushed here to buy a 'complete' game. No matter how many things are added to this game, if it doesn't solidy increase gameplay time through actual gameplay, story, and progression, then it's all pointless and not very fun. I agree with that, but they must be unique. As the TC mentions, they want more sea creatures throughout the world. Only those people with extremely low standards seem to enjoy them. They flopped because of lazy last-second 'story' development. Just look at what happened to a few new releases. A bland way to pad on 'content', and it goes without saying that many people after release will notice that. Game mechanics will likely never reach the complexity or richness that can be perceived through some object scans, such as much of the plant-life. It doesn't matter what the scanner says about something- it always means absolutely nothing. In my opinion, scanning is going to get old, and fast.
